We’re Moving And Expanding

EMA has moved! We moved to a new location nearby, providing us with more warehouse space and an updated repair and testing center. When we last moved in 2008, we couldn’t believe how much room we had in the building; we had so much that we rented out half of the building to another business. Fast forward almost 17 years later and we’re moving again because we’re busting at the seams! By shifting our primary focus to Medium Voltage VFD sales and service, the footprint of the drives we deal with has increased dramatically, which forced us to need a larger space.

Challenges Of Medium Voltage:

In the late 1990’s, I was EMA’s part-time shipping and receiving clerk as a high school student. At the time, all we shipped were circuit boards and small drives. Now, we would NEVER have a high school student running our shipping and receiving. Our shipping manager spends more time on a forklift than he does at a desk! We’re shipping refurbished medium voltage variable frequency drives, switchgear, and power cells all over the world on a daily basis. As a point of reference, we never owned a forklift until about 2010, now we own 5!

Our medium voltage power cell repair business has also forced us into a larger space. Working on power cells is as mechanical as it is electrical. The power electronics needed in these cells are high-current devices which require large wiring and/or bus bars and large heat sinks. Working on these cells requires a significant amount of room, well beyond a standard work bench.

In addition to power cell repairs, we repair complete medium voltage drives! EMA has been repairing full drives since our inception, but until recently, we didn’t foresee that we’d be performing shop repairs on drives in the thousands of horsepower! Receiving, storing, and repairing an entire Medium Voltage Variable Frequency Drive is something that requires a lot of space and expertise; thankfully, we’re continuing to expand in both.

Expanded Facilities = Improved Service:

Our new facility doubles our load capacity, enabling us to test and load even larger drives. The expanded space allows for more efficient repair and testing of drives and power cells, improving turnaround times for our customers. The space also allows us to more efficiently perform factory acceptance and witness testing of the drives we sell.

Big Drives, Small Feel:

Despite our growth, EMA remains a family-owned business with a commitment to personalized service. We pride ourselves on providing support that large manufacturers often cannot, ensuring our customers are treated as individuals, not numbers. If you’re skeptical: call us, email us, or come by and see us if you’re in the Atlanta area. We’re blessed to be expanding because we have great customers, and we will continue to grow to meet their needs. Do you need service on an existing Medium Voltage Variable Frequency Drive? Do you need a new or refurbished one? Do you just need someone to answer the phone because you have a question? Contact us and let us prove to you that No One, ANYWHERE, Is Better At Drives Than We Are!
