We are often called upon to change bus capacitors in large VFDs. As a result, we have a number of bus capacitors to sell. Bus Caps used in VFDs do have a set lifespan (See Bus Caps, the Ticking Time Bomb) and should be changed. Failing to do so can cause catastrophic failures. The problem is these bus capacitors are difficult to find–until now that is. EMA sells bus caps used in Siemens Robicon VFDs, and most other medium and low voltage VFDs.
Bus Caps used in the DC section must not only be sized correctly in terms of micro-farads and voltage, but must have the same physical configuration and electrical connection. This makes the bus capacitors difficult to purchase if the original part number is obsolete, as is often the case with bus capacitors used in VFDs.
Since we service these DC sections regularly, we’ve developed expertise in crossing these bus capacitors even when the original parts are obsolete.
We realize that some people need us to do these bus capacitor change-outs, and some do not For those with the ability to do it themselves, we offer these capacitors at great prices.
In many cases, we can cross them for you just from the original part number, but even if that’s not available, we can usually help you from an image and a few measurements.
EMA sells bus capacitors.. at great prices! Our prices almost always beat everyone else, and we keep up with what others are charging. You could save thousands of dollars on just one large MV VFD, such as the Robicon Perfect Harmony bus capacitor change.
